Yo, si sabía la adivinanza, porque de mis estudios de Bellas Artes, tuve que hacer un trabajo sobre la obra de Ricardo Bellver, que es el autor de la estatua. Puedo añadir, que se erigió el 23 de octubre 1874, por iniciativa del duque Fernán Nuñez,(que tiene una calle con su nombre muy cerca del Parque del Retiro), y que donó 11.000 duros de la época para que el proyecto se llevase a cabo. Adorna una fuente en una pequeña plaza, de la que sale una avenida que lleva el nombre 'Del Angel Caído'.
Se trata de la única estatua que se conoce levantada en honor del diablo.
Como anécdota, decir que apareció en la película "El día de la Bestia" de Alex de La Iglesia, en la que Santiago Segura y Alex Angulo perseguían sin descanso al Anticristo.

Descarto otras esculturas de demonios que pertenecen a otras mitologías y no son asimilables a la figura de Lucifer.
